I was recently on a shooting trip to Colorado and captured some great stuff (so much that we have yet to sort it all). But I did want to share one shot (actually 16 merged into a panorama in Photoshop CS3 ) that I was pretty psyched about. This is just the rough version stitched together pretty quickly but I think this one will defiantly make it into my collection of favorites.

Technical Details: Canon 5D with a 70-200 2.8L @ 150mm. Sixteen Shots in Portrait Orientation. Raw Files processed in Adobe Lightroom and stitched in Adobe Photoshop CS3. Black and White conversion was done custom in CS3.

Hello from Seat 2D (gotta love free first class upgrades frequent fliers get) on Delta Flight 478. I am headed to San Francisco for a Wedding this weekend.

While the wedding is certainly the priority I first plan to spend tomorrow shooting (and tasting) in wine country and then Friday morning checking out Alcatraz and San Fran city life.

It should be a lot of fun and be sure to check back next week for a few pics from the wedding and the rest of the trip.

First and foremost I am grateful father of a incredibly smart and beautiful daughter and the lucky husband of a beautiful and loving wife. While I am originally from Cleveland, Ohio we live and work in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Photography has always been a passion of mine but initially I never intended for it to be more than that. I went to school for Marine Policy and have an awesome job working for NOAA on restoring wetlands and coral reefs ever since. While I have always loved the art of photography, I never considered it more than that up until a few years ago when people started insisting they pay me for my art. So slowly over the last couple of years I have begun to grow a small photography business as my “fun job”. I use the quotes around fun because I guess everything is pretty relative as my NOAA job is pretty fun in and of itself, you won’t catch me complaining about being paid to dive on coral reefs.

So here I am a few years later I still love my day job and my “fun job” is booming so much that I am starting to have to turn clients away (Having time with my family is still my first priority). There’s lots more to this story but suffice to say if you check out the blog regularly I am sure you will get the jest.

As I write my inaugural post on this blog I once again have to look back on this analogy. Why? Because probably less than a year ago I said to someone “ I don’t really get this blogging thing”, “Who would just write random stuff about themselves, their hobby, or their profession”, “ I will NEVER have a blog”.

Well as has happened many times in my life and I am sure yours as well never slowly becomes “maybe”, and sometimes turns into “I love this!!!”. I have a feeling the latter will be how I feel about this blog. Why the change of heart you might ask? When you have a minute check out some of the blogs to the left on photography or go on BlogRolls or Technorati and check out blogs on your favorite subject matter and you will see how addicting and inspiring they can be.

For me I started as casual reader of a few photography blogs (mainly David Hobby’s Strobist and Scott Kelby’s Photoshop Insider) from there I keep finding links to other blogs and other photographers. I found myself not only learning a lot from other photographer via their blogs but also gaining quite a bit of inspiration. More than once when I would create a cool new photo or come upon something new or interesting I found myself wanting to share it with the rest of the community, I found myself wanting to blog.

So here it is My Blog, I will focus mainly on photography and related items but I think you will find me throwing in some other interesting anecdotes from time to time. I hope to use the blog as a way to share new techniques with other photographers, connect with clients, allow people to get to know me, and as place to share my random thoughts.

While I have said to many in the past that I would never blog, I must admit that I have become addicted to many of the blogs you see on the left. So the time has come... the layout is still rough (I didn't want basic blogger, but I aso have no idea what I am doing )... the content is zero... but the ambition is high. So I ask your (assuming anyone ever reads this) patience while we tweak the layout and add some content over the next few weeks.
